Endpoint Stories

Here are a few "endpoint" stories that were turned in before the break. If you'd like to send me yours I would love to post it here. Please share your positive comments to these fine folks who submitted early.

There was once a big white plane, and nothing was on it for a long time until a little endpoint came and decided to go to the middle, and he sat there for a while, then another endpoint came and they made a line segment. But then the first endpoint grew a tail, then that made a ray. Then the second endpoint grew a tail and they made a line! Next the second ray was going on and met another line going upwards and they made perpendicular lines. The first ray was going on and on and on when he met a line that was going diagonal and they made intersecting lines. Well the first line was going on when he passed two parallel rays going the same way as he was, and they all became parallel to each other, and everyone went on and on and on and on very happy with the friends they met, plane endpoint, ray, perpendicular, intersecting, and parallel lines!      ~Ryan

The Little Endpoint

There once was a little endpoint that loved to look at planes. He wondered what it would be like to be on one of those interesting, everlasting, endpoint filled, line. Would there ever be a place for me?  Wondered the curious dot. Maybe I can connect with him!

When the endpoint went over to the line, he saw the line already had hundreds of endpoints on him. He thought the enormous line would say no, but he went over and hopped on. The little guy noticed it wasn’t a line, but a line segment! The confused dot looked underneath him. A PLANE! MY DREAM CAME TRUE!     ~Mac

Two endpoints were traveling through space. They had seen the moon, other planets, and other endpoints traveling in space as well. Space adventures are the endpoints dream. Every time they travel they discover something new. There adventures area always new to the universe. This day was the day that changed everything. One day they were floating and saw a strange object on the moon. They went closer. It was a plane! The y took it to the space rocket. They then took it back to Endworld where they live. They raised him as their own. Many of them were raised. The door to planes was never closed.     ~Hannah

Once there was a endpoint that appeared on  a plane. It was a lonely endpoint. One day he met another lonely endpoint. They formed a line segment. And that line segment had a line. One day that line I told you about ran into another line, and then another. They were now perpendicular lines. The lines he had run into were parallel lines. They never got in each others way because they were buddies.  And then those parallel lines ran into a ray and now they were intersecting. And that ray. Well no one knows what happened to him after that. Maybe he ran into an endpoint and started the whole story over again. Or maybe he is still in space going in one direction. Like I said no one knows. Well I guess that concludes our story. Bye!     ~Luke

Peer Pressure!

One day when Point was taking a walk a Line came along. And soon became engaged and got married! 5 years later they had a son named Ray who was a very good boy. He always helped and did his homework with Line. One day when Ray was walking home with his best friend Line Segment he saw a group of older boys smoking. As they approached the boys they were offered a beer. Line Segment and Ray looked at each other. “Well, smoking is bad for you and it can make your teeth yellow,” said Ray. “Ohhhh….OK!,” said one boy, “we’ll stop.” When Ray got home he told Endpoint and Line about what happened. They were very proud of Ray and Ray was happy that he did not take the beer. Just like you, he pledges to be drug free!     ~Sarah

...and a quadrilateral family tree story:

The Quadrilateral Family Tree

There once was a great shape that we know as quadrilateral. It had three sons their names were Kite, Trapezoid, and Parallelogram. Trapezoid had a kid he named him Isosceles Trapezoid. Parallelogram had two kids Rhombus, and Rectangle. Rhombus and Rectangle had a kid named Square. That is the story of the Quadrilateral family tree.     ~Hunter
